Belongs to the monotypic genus; Subfamily: Ixoroideae; Tribe: Mussaendeae. 4-5 m tall shrub.

Leaves opposite, simple, deciduous, membranous. Bifid interpetiolar stipules. Inflorescences terminal, cymose. Fruit: capsule; seeds numerous, irregular, not winged.

Phylogenetically, Landiopsis forms a robust clade with the Bremeria of Madagascar (Alejandro & al., 2005).

This species occurs in Ankarana (Cat. IV), Ankivonjy (Cat. V), Loky Manambato (Cat. V), Montagne d'Ambre (Cat. II) and Nosy Hara (Cat. II) Protected Areas.

It is not reported in ex situ collections (BGCI 2022).
